Techstart Ventures is delighted to announce that it has established a new Edinburgh office and completed the first four investments from its new Scottish venture capital fund.
The Scottish fund will build on the success of Techstart’s approach in Northern Ireland where the team have invested in 44 seed stage technology companies amongst which many are already widely viewed as being the most exciting technology companies coming out of Northern Ireland.
Mark Hogarth, who joined Techstart Ventures as a Partner, said: “We’re excited to bring this new fund into such an open and supportive ecosystem. We look forward to helping more founders get the funding and support they need on their journey to building the next generation of amazing companies. I’m also delighted to be joined in the Edinburgh office by Robert Richmond who brings over twenty years of venture capital and private equity experience. Our first four investments are Prodsight, Trickle, Chilli Connect and Bella & Duke, all of which are very exciting companies with great potential.”
Hal Wilson, Partner, commented “Bringing our proven approach to Scotland with a new fund was a natural next step for Techstart as we seek to scale our own business.”
Jamie Andrews, Partner, added: “Scotland is home to a huge number of very exciting early stage companies and we look forward to playing our part in helping more of them achieve the success they aspire to.”
Mark concluded, “Techstart’s new Scottish fund is open for proposals, so if your team is raising seed capital then please do talk with us as early as possible in your journey. We’re happy to start with a conversation, the pitch deck can follow later.”
